Season’s greetings and welcome to the Central Staff Training and Research Institute (CSTARI), Kolkata.

It is a premier institute with a sprawling campus of approximately 16 acres located in the biggest IT hub of the eastern part of the country at Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata. Since its inception, CSTARI has taken several initiatives to design and revamp curricula for Vocational Training on a pan-India basis. It has consistently striven to retain currency and relevance in addressing the contemporary skill needs of industry.

CSTARI has evolved to align the curricula across different schemes of the Directorate General of Training with the National Skill Qualification Framework. Having travelled a long journey since 1968, the institute continues to adapt its training delivery and research to the dynamic requirements of the skill ecosystem and the economy.

CSTARI is also a pioneer in building the capacity of Vocational Instructors through its expertise in pedagogy and modern training practices. With the teamwork and dedication of our faculty, staff, stakeholders, and trainees, we aim to enhance the quality of skill development and expand research in skill-training curricula.

We invite all stakeholders to contribute and add value to the numerous courses being implemented across the country. Trainers and managers engaged in the skill ecosystem are encouraged to participate in our programmes to build their capacity. With collective effort, we can bring meaningful changes to society and contribute to nation building.
